EL CORTIJO CLUB DE CAMPO
Telde, Gran Canaria. (Spain)
18 Holes • Length 6.308 m • Par 72
The inauguration of El Cortijo hosted the Spanish Open ( European PGA Tour) in 2002 and was the site where Sergio Garcia won his first Professional Tournament in Spain. Another great player won in the same tournament as the best amateur, the local, Rafael Cabrera Bello, who has since turned pro. As a championship golf course, El Cortijo has hosted many other great tournaments, promoting golf and the Canary Island as one of the best golf tourist destinations in Europe.
The golf course winds its way through ancient volcanic rocks and mature palm trees more than 100 years old! A huge variety of holes and greens make the golf course very interesting, fun and quite challenging. Great views exist on the upper holes that look over the fascinating town of Telde and also the immense Atlantic Ocean.
