Without a doubt, Urubó Golf has been the highest task ever for Stirling & Martin in designing and building a golf course in a very sensitive and a protected area . Located near the city of Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Urubó Golf shows us the richest and natural flora and fauna of the deepest Bolivian Amazon.
The masterplan has been the result of five dedicated years to explore carefully the jungle, selecting the most adequate areas for golf holes, making careful clearing, and incorporating in the design as much natural features existing on the unique piece of land.
Urubó Golf is a championship golf course prepared to host prestigious international tournaments. Two different nine holes loops complete the challenging and gorgeous routing of golf. The first nine called “Rain Forest” are natural holes integrated on the existing topography and vegetation of the land. The back nine, “The Lake”, transports the player into a “Florida style” golf course, with 6 demanding holes playing around an enormous natural lagoon.
Urubó Golf is a clear example of the fusion of North America golf creative design concepts led by Blake Stirling, and the natural and minimalism European golf school represented by Marco Martin.
